Hi Reader -
Have you ever felt afraid to really accept a part of yourself?
Not the polished parts. Not the ones you already like...
But the messy, reactive, shadowy ones that feel hard to love?
I get it.
Shadow work (which I see as unconditional love work)-- sounds beautiful in theory—until you’re face-to-face with a version of you that you’ve spent a lifetime trying to silence.
What I’ve come to realize is this: the fear of the shadow isn’t wrong. It’s a signal.
It means you’re standing at the threshold of transformation.
I wrote a Substack article about this exact moment... The one where shadow work triggers us… right before it changes us.
This isn't about fixing anything. It’s about becoming whole.
I hope you’ll take a moment to read it. And if it resonates, I’d love to hear what part of your story it touches.

You are loved!
Delightfully,
brooke
P.S. I even made a little 3-minute. video introducing the post! Come tell me your own thoughts about unconditional love... has it ever felt scary to you, too? Let's discuss!
